OK, wow. I haven't been here in a while. I was busy finishing school. Sorry. Everybody. All you listeners out there. Now though, I am too tired to write about much. I just got back from the mountains. I'm forging some new wildcat trails up there. Some tree punched me in the face today along that way. Last week I was in DC for a conference. Mixed bag there: new experience, opportunity, people, friends; too fast for me to pick it ALL up, so I'm a little miffed on that one. Next week, next conference, in SF, CA. Hope that goes well. Now, sleep. Tim-out.

OMG,OMG, OMG, OMG!

I just made my first contribution to Wikipedia and I am so excited!  I noticed a small error in the posterior hyperparameters of the binomial likelihood distribution.  There appeared a discrepancy between by derivation of the parameter set and what appeared on the Wikipedia site.  So I checked it out and found the Wiki page was missing a sigma notation for an indexed sample element.  Silly I'm sure!  It is here noted in the red circle FYI.

So, I guess I just zoomed up to super-dork status.  Look for me in the locker room to beat me up.

Um.  So I guess this is the bridge to my father's hometown.  Where we are going in a couple weeks to run the local weekly newspaper for the regular guy for a while.  Might be a story there.  News to me and you.  But those people living there have been living it for like a month.  I just saw another picture, one of a town completely surrounded by water with only dikes keeping it out.  I hope that... shit, I hope I don't get drowned.

This was new at the Museum of Contemporary Art.  This photograph doesn't do the painting justice.  It was so vivid and textural in person.  This was the first time I had been back to the museum since February, I think.

How to Cultivate Compassion in Your Life - wikiHow

I think this is cool.  I remember that the Dalai Lama teaches us to do something like wish everyone (our enemies, too!) to be happy and forfilled.  I think this helped me cultivate that idea more.

I found this on a disk yesterday.  It is from my April '08 trip to Seattle.  Back when I was a young man.  Matt Fletcher and Josh peruse records in the 1st Hill district of Seattle.
